Meditation
Meditation can take many different forms. As you go through your daily life you have many different senses and experiences impacting on your mind. Did you know that even when you are focusing on one task your mind is processing so much more. Have you ever had a moment where you smell something or taste something or hear a sound or a piece of music, and instantly your mind takes you right back to a time or a place in the past?
Our Mind is so vast that we will probably never grow to understand it completely. As we go through our day to day routines we think we are only dealing with the task at hand but in actual fact we are absorbing so much more information. Right now
Was my mouth not dry a minute ago? Had my Ears turned off the sound? My brain was processing all the information it was getting from my senses and telling me the information I needed to know. If your not sure, think of it this way, if something were to crash behind me or the door bell was to ring would I hear it? The answer is yes because it is something my mind would feel I need to respond to. If my ears were switched off how would my mind know the door bell was ringing? Our minds process huge amounts of information every day. Meditation is one way in which we can leave the physical demanding world behind and connect with our souls. Its a way to help cleanse your mind of all the information it has to process on a day to day basis. It can be complete down time for your brain, where you transcend to an altered state of consciousness. Meditation is so much more than escaping reality. If you meditate on a daily basis then you will reap the benefits in everything you do for the rest of the day. There are many different types of meditation and reasons for those meditations. Maybe there is something occupying your subconscious only you are too busy in your physical life to process the information, meditation can help you connect with your subconscious and in doing so deal with the important issues you need to. Meditation can be used to help you change your attitudes to certain thing. For example if you are wanting to give up smoking, meditation can help give you the strength to quit. There is no magical cure for addiction but there are certain things you can do to help yourself. Do you need to sit in a fancy yoga position and chant strange words? You can, but you don't need to. You can meditate in a busy cafe on your lunch break or on the train home from work. YouTubeThese are just a small selection of the meditations available on YouTube. I have started recording the meditations for my Wednesday online circle and they are added to the YouTube channel each week.
I hope you enjoy them and please feel free to request a specific meditation if you would like via E-mail. |
